SALTINE CHOCOLATE CRUNCH
The Recipe (takes 10 minutes!) :
1/3 c brown sugar 3/4 c butter 1 sleeve salted-top Saltines 9oz dark chocolate chips pinch sea salt optional sprinkling of slivered almonds
Preheat oven to 400.Line a baking tray with aluminum foil, spray lightly with cooking spray, I use grapeseed oil. About 3/4 of a sleeve of saltines laid end to end will cover the baking sheet. Bring brown sugar and butter to a boil. Pour sugar-butter evenly over the tray of saltines.Bake at 400 for NO MORE THAN FIVE MINUTES any more and they will burn. After 5 minutes remove tray from the oven and sprinkle all of the chocolate chipsimmediately on top. Let set for 1 minute and then spread the melting chips evenly over the tray. Toss a pinch of salt evenly over the cooling chips. Add any other - optional - toppings (almond slivers, peppermint pieces, coconut, sprinkles) and let cool completely. Cut with a knife or break by hand.
Best served frozen!
